That's built into CB Activity. Under the Activity parameters tab of your menu item set Auto Update to Enable.

You can not change the interval at this time. It checks every few minutes. It will also give up after like 30 attempts to find new entries. This is to prevent someones browser from indefinitely pinging your site.
