Community Builder & Groupjive links giving 'String could not be parsed as XML"

Hi, All of a sudden, site users are unable to access their profile page which is the redirect page when you login. Some CB and GJ links at the back-end (CB --> Plugin Management, GJ --> Configuration) also resulting in blank page with message "String could not be parsed as XML". I have tried to re-install the latest versions CB & GJ but no joy. Also not sure if this a related issue but Joomla Control panel appears to load without the template, just links.

Empty your cache folder in Joomla root if you're unable to clear cache from backend and see if issue persists. That error means an XML file can't be parsed. It's very unlikely for this to suddenly happen without something directly causing it. What was changed recently? Anything new installed? On free hosting (they often inject ads into the buffer and break endpoints)?
