groupjive events check-in guestlist feature

6 years 3 months ago #305826 by jeroen aalders
groupjive events check-in guestlist feature was created by jeroen aalders
I am currently using Eventbrite and JEM for events integration but would very much like to start using the build in events of groups. However, I am missing an important feature, namely, the possibility for admins or certain up-gradable guests to not only see and search the guest-list of attending users but also strike off those who actually show up and check them in. The latter for follow-up mailings towards those who, apart from clicking attend, really attended and those who weren't.
Is there an easy way to do this or could it be added easily in a future update?
Thanks and look forward to hearing from you soon!
Jeroen

You can see who is attending an event by clicking the # Guests link in the event. If you want to allow event holders to message attendees you can enable that within CB GroupJive Events > Parameters > Message. There is no functionality for checking someone in and there are no plans to implement such functionality, sorry.

Hey and thanks for your answer.
Is there not a way to use the back-end (CB GroupJive Events: Attendance) search tools to see all attending users of an event or even search for their username and then select this user and instead of deleting him/her, add the functionality under the edit button at the top to check them in, or add / edit status of 'attending' to 'checked-in' ?

You can browse attendance in backend and search it too, but again there is no "check-in" functionality at all in GJ. There are no plans of adding such functionality at this time either. There is no attendance status. A user is either attending (in which case they'll show in attendance) or they're not (they won't show in attendance).

Thanks for your quicky reply. I just thought that the new suggestion might either be easily to add as a future feature or be able to get done easily on the customer side with autoactions or something similar. ;-)

It's likely to make it into CB Events, a planned future project for managing events, but it will likely never be implemented into GJ Events which is a very simplified event manager for groups.
