Is it possible to possible to ad fields to change the way connections look. like you can control CB lists? I want to ad a phone field which I have done in CB lists. see attached

No, not at this time. Will be possible once we rewrite CB Connections and its display is template driven as well as will have triggers for extending it further. Only way to add more fields to it now is to modify the CB Connections plugin core code, which will result in changes lost anytime you update CB.
