Hi,

Currently if a user wants to edit their password, they have to log in, pull up their "My Account" page, which doesn't show their password, and find a tiny "Edit" button at the top of the page.

That's fine for computer geeks sitting in front of their computers in a quiet place, but we have about a thousand users, many of whom are trying to use our website on mobile phones in a distracting environment, who can't remember the password they last used a month or two ago, and who sure aren't going to remember the random password assigned when they use the "lost password" feature.

Please please let me know if there's a way to make this easier for our users.

Thanks,

Peter Kuhn

Create a Joomla menu item directly to profile edit. You can even have your login module display one (see Logout Options tab). Your Joomla menu item can even have the tab that your password field is on (typically Contact Info) opened by default making it even easier. This will immediately take them to profile edit to change their password. Changing a users password has always been in profile edit or "account details" like pages; it's simply how every website has been designed and is incredibly familiar.
