Base64 encode index.php?option=com_comprofiler&view=login then add it to the URL as &return=ENCODED_URL_HERE. It should pick that up as the return redirect URL. Aside from that you'll need to wait for the feature to be implemented to improve the notifications as I'll have it handle sending to login.
