We are going to use CB plugin groupjive. In the page of Category Edit (CB GroupJive: Edit Category) we need to add one more setting. Especially the special selectbox, there the options are defined by SQL query. It should be something like:
docs.joomla.org/SQL_form_field_type
What would be the best way how to do that?
We suppose special plugin should be written, but what is the start point to start with?
It's not possible to add new inputs to category or group edit without creating a new CB plugin to do exactly that. CB also does not use Joomla fields. Review existing GJ integrations on how to do this. Since categories are managed entirely from backend this would have to be done entirely from XML which becomes a bit more complicated in addition to it not knowing what you're even wanting to do with the new input (it won't display anywhere).
