Hello,

When trying to upload a images in the profiles or the profile gallery, the Upload Image dropdown menu does not load the "choose image" button and function instructions. Updating to the most current Community Builder version does not fix this. This started having issues several months ago and is continuing even with the newest update. As instructed in another 08 November 2018 topic for someone else with the same problem, I switched to the Joomla Prostar default template and cleared cache, but it improved nothing. This malfunction occurs on the backend for admin and the frontend for users to edit their own profiles. We can no longer add images to profiles, other than the canvas tab.

The "choose file" button does display and work on the the CANVAS tab. That is the only area it works (available only on backend for admin use).

I am running Joomla 3.9.6, Community Builder 2.4.2, Rockettheme template Chimera v1.10 and Gantry 4.1.41, all the most recent versions available.

Thank you,
Kristin

You've something installed converted all select elements to jQuery Chosen usages. Notice your dropdown is not a standard HTML dropdown as shown below.

This is likely a 3rd party installed plugin within Extensions > Plugins doing it.

I try not to use many plugins, but I will look at that. Would K2 cause this? When K2 stopped supporting Community Builder, there were exchanges between them and CB about some code fixes. Is there anything that should be done to my site so Community Builder and K2 are not having issues if this is the cause? It seems the loss of "user friendly" collaboration between you might have left the customers in need of some fixes.

Are there some settings that I should check and reset in configuration or other places if it is not a plugin?

Thanks,
ASAA

It appears I have few third party plugins. Nothing I identified influenced the CB image upload dropdown menu issue. Most are Joomla and Community Builder provided plugins. K2, RocBox and TinyMCE are identified. TinyMCE has been disabled and JCE editor is again active with no change in the problem. Can you provide more insight into what specifically I should look at to the CB dropdown menu malfunction? If it is K2, is there a code fix or alternative action? I cannot disable all of K2 without disrupting and disabling the entire site.

Hope you can help!

Thank you,

I've no idea what's causing it. It's something you've installed that is converting select elements to jQuery Chosen elements on every page including backend. That's not a good thing to have installed as it's carelessly altering every extensions select elements and will break things thoughout CB and likely other extensions. It is most likely a system plugin since those can load on and impact every page.

I don't see why this would be K2. CB integrates with K2 fine as well; simply change the model in CB Articles if you want to display K2 articles on profile and do same for CB Blogs if you want blogs to be stored in K2. To discover what's causing it you'll need to unpublished 3rd party extensions 1 by 1 until the issue goes away.

Kyle,

Thank you for clarifying that K2 would not be the problem. I avoided updating to the new version of K2 because of their declaration that they would not support CB in their updated version, but an over sensitive hover in the Joomla updater activated the K2 update a few months ago. That chance timing made it a suspicious source. I will investigate the plugins further.
