Is it possible to put a PayPal button (or other payment button) into the CB Registration form?

I suppose you can using a Custom HTML field, but it's not going to collect payment with their registration. It'd just send them to PayPal based off however you've configured the PayPal button widget. If you want to collect payments with registration or on-site and tied to the user themselves you'll need CB Paid Subscriptions .
