About issue #6225

Is it likely that CB 2.6 will be released before Joomla 4?

Refering to my old feature request here:

which still is open.

I am currently using a 3pd extension to allow moderators to add new users in frontend, but I´m unsure if this will work after migration to J4.
Self-registration is not an option on this site, so I need to have a plan for the upcoming migration.

No, that feature will not be in CB 2.x. If implemented it'd likely be available in CB 3.x where we will be rewriting pretty much all of CB to follow Joomla 4 new component structure which uses a very modern framework structure. There still is not a guarantee that ticket will ever be implemented though. Please understand a ticket is a log of an idea; it does not mean it will happen.

Sorry if I have misunderstood, I thought it was an accepted feature.

For others reading this post, using Add User Frontend works with CB 2.5 and earlier.
extensions.joomla.org/extension/add-user-frontend/
but there is no recent activity with that 3pd component.
I have asked the developer, waiting for an answer.
There may be other extemsions available for thiis purpose that I am not aware of.

Please note that there may be many situuations where CB is an excellent choise, even if self registration is not suitable. Ie. schools, clubs, associations and more.

Hope there will be some kind of solution available for adding users in frontend for future versions of Joomla and CB, either frpm the CB Team or from 3pd developers.
