What do you mean remove the invite link is not working? Works perfectly fine in my tests once toggled to Disable in CB Invites > Parameters > Invites. Is it still displaying the button for you under the Invites tab on profile?

Looks like you might be logged in as a moderator. As the parameters description directly states moderators are exempt and can always create and manage invite links.
