I'm trying CB with two users. I see I can like someone's post only if we're connected (I mean with a friend connection requested and accepted). I'm sure there is a trigger somewhere to enable likes even for non-connections, but I just can't find it...
You can control all aspects of an activity stream within activity stream parameters. Everything that is per-stream specific will be centralized there. Navigate to CB Activity > Streams > Activity and edit the stream you're wanting this change on (probably "Profile Activity"). Next click the "Display" tab and you'll see a "Likes" section there. Toggle "Connected Access" to "Disable" to turn off connection check for likes to allow anyone to like posts on that stream.

Ok, I really didn't want to bother for the same thing (this time referred to the COMMENT section). But I can't find that trigger neither!
How do I enable people to comment posts even if they're not connected?
As with activity streams comment streams are entirely managed from CB Activity > Streams > Comments. From there you can edit the comment stream being used by the activity stream (probably "Profile Activity" in your case) then adjust the parameters under "Display" and "Create" as needed.
