Moved website to a new IP address - unable to update CB

Here is the error:

 

I checked the _extensions table and there is a column in there called extra_params - I scrolled through all entries in that table and there aren't any values in any of the rows.

Should I delete that column?

Update: I deleted that column and the update worked! (this was done on my test system)

Yup, that column would be the culprit. My guess is at some point a 3rd party extension added it. I see no reference of that column anywhere in Joomla 3, 4, or 5 so my guess is 3rd party did it unless your install migrated from Joomla 1.x as maybe it existed back then I don't recall.

Thanks for the help, Kyle. I went back to a backup on May 23rd and it has that column in there. I'm going to install a backup from January this year to see if that column is in there. 

I know I've done updates to packages since May 23rd so I'm puzzled as to why/how they worked - or maybe the offending package didn't care about it.

UPDATE: I restored a backup from December 2, 2024 and that field extra_params is in the _extensions table. How come my updates worked since then but just started failing now? Back then Joomla was on v5.2.2 and now it is 5.3.1
