It'll depend on where the article is created from, but adding both should be fine. Once you've updated both CB Activity and CB Auto Actions you should be able to add flair now. You should see a parameter to select available flair to be applied to the activity in your auto action.

I can confirm that I do see the option to add flair when editing activity on frontend (and I already saw it earlier). I can select flairs from the list, but I still cannot save the activity — instead, I get the message: “Please provide a post.”I’ve attached a screenshot for reference.

"You should see a parameter to select available flair to be applied to the activity in your auto action." - I'm not sure I understand this.

I’ve checked, but I don’t see any parameter in Auto Actions for setting flair (screenshot attached).Even if such a parameter were available, I wouldn’t want to assign a flair there permanently. What I’d really like is for users to be able to edit the automatically created activity afterwards and add the most relevant flair themselves, depending on the article content.Best,

I managed to work around the issue. While editing the activity/post, I added a bit of text — in my case, the article title seemed the most reasonable choice. Previously, doing this would remove the linked article, but now that didn’t happen. The title and article both remained, and the flair now allows proper filtering.

So, while it may not work perfectly out of the box and could perhaps be improved a bit, I was able to achieve the main goal — so once again, many thanks! 🙏

Best,
Robert.

Are you sure you've updated to the latest releases released today? That validation error is fixed for editing article activity without a message. As for the flair parameter it's within your auto action not within CB Activity. So in your auto action you'll need to set that so that it creates the activity with the flair you're wanting automatically, but you won't see this until you update to latest releases.

Our install from web caches for 24 hours to avoid people slamming our servers with version checks. You can force refresh it with the button bottom right of the install from web tab or you can download latest release manually from our downloads page.

Yesterday it was already very late for me, and since I had several plugins to update I just updated everything without looking too closely. On top of that, my update channel was set to stable. Today I switched it to default, refreshed, and reinstalled everything. I can now confirm that the default flair field has appeared in Auto Actions, and also that I’m able to save an edited activity (created after adding an article) without having to add any content — no error message appears. So now everything really works great 🙂
    1.    I still have the Like and Comment settings enabled under Activity > Article. Should I also move those to Auto Actions?
    2.    I’m now realizing just how versatile Auto Actions is, but it has always seemed to have a steep learning curve. I remember you once said that creating detailed documentation isn’t possible, but that you’re ready to help prepare solutions — and I see you doing that in other threads too. Maybe collecting those ready-made solutions with some basic categorization in one place could help people like me better understand the tool and take advantage of its full potential?

Regarding flairs and the new default option, one idea comes to mind:
if article tags have the same names as flairs, could we automatically assign those corresponding flairs to the activity during its creation?

Best,
Robert
