Problems with CB gallery was created by leif_e
“I’m having issues after updating to the new version of CB Gallery.

Several features no longer work for me.

The first problem is that I normally display an overview of all albums from a menu.

I have selected the setup shown cbgallery1.png for the menu, but the website tells me that I’m not authorized to view the albums.

Here is the link from my frontpage:  sdf.dk/gallerier/medgalleri-2/album/0.html

Can you help me troubleshoot this?
Best regards

Did you migrate from 2.5 to 3.0 and now are having issues? Please keep in mind this is a migration. CB Gallery 3.0 is a major rewrite. So your issues are most likely just a matter of configuration. I recommend navigating to CB Gallery > Galleries and going through your galleries to adjust their configuration as needed. Look over it carefully as there's a lot of new features.

but the website tells me that I’m not authorized to view the albums.

This typically means you're trying to display a gallery you don't have access to. This can happen for profile galleries commonly. For example trying to display a profile gallery while the viewing user doesn't have permission to view profiles or that users profile will result in an access permission issue. This didn't work very well in CB Gallery 2.5 and has been fixed in CB Gallery 3.0. Gallery access permissions are strictly checked and respected.

Hi again

It is correct that I have migrated from 2.5 to 3.0.

I was not aware that major changes had been made.

I have now partially managed to get it working, but I still have a major problem. Only registered members can see the content of the individual galleries.

Everything in the settings is set to public, so I cannot find what is blocking it or how to change it.

When I create a gallery as a user, I am not given the option to choose whether it should be public.

We are a photoclub and use CBgallery so our members can show their photos.

Can you help me figure out how to change it so the public can also view the individual galleries?

Is it possible to get a manual for CB gallery?

Best regards
Leif

Can you help me figure out how to change it so the public can also view the individual galleries?

They're public by default so most likely it migrated a setting that wasn't working in 2.5 and is now working in 3.0. There's several reasons why profile galleries may not be accessible.

The first being within CB > Configuration > User Profile be sure "Profile View Access Level" is set to "Public". Next within CB > Tab Management be sure the "Gallery" tab is set to "Public" and is published. Now within CB > Plugin Management be sure "CB Gallery" plugin is also set to "Public" and is published.

This should cover the globals. Now once that's checked navigate to CB Gallery > Galleries and review the "Profile Gallery" settings carefully. There's quite a lot of options there. Access will be important. If you don't want privacy controls on media then be sure to turn that off as well for example.

If you'd like a reference to default settings to reset the galleries you can compare to our demo site below. Simply use the "Login As" of "Administrator" and you can freely explore the backend.

demo.cbdemosites.com/

If your issue persists after doing all of this please PM backend super user login credentials (see link in signature below) and provide instructions to see your issue on frontend and will take a look.

Is it possible to get a manual for CB gallery?

Unfortunately we don't have one. I just don't have the time to create documentation at this time.
