Hello  !

The recent update of CB Gallery introduced a great improvement in the management of album cover (adding a menu ''choose as album cover" instead of file selection at creation).

Is it planned to have same for galleries created in groups ?

You can only set the album cover if you own the album. That'll work withing CB GroupJive as well. Currently it will not allow you to set the album cover for albums you do not own. At this time there are no plans to change that behavior.

Oh yes, I think too that album cover can only be set by the album's owner. But my concern is about the way to set this this cover in a group album 

Here is the former method i see in Group album then the new improved method i see in Profile Album (with a menu item " choose this image as cover"')

There is nothing new about any of this in recent releases. This is how it has always functioned. If you're the owner of the photo you can set it as your profile canvas image, profile avatar, and if you're also the owner of the album you can set it as the album cover. You may have a language translation error causing some confusion with those menu items.

From album edit you can upload a cover image directly or by viewing a photo that you also own you can use the menu item to set the album cover. Below is how it looks when the user owns the album and the photo.

 

Note ignore "Change Album" in the above screenshot. That's a new feature coming in 3.1.0.

I am sorry to insist Kyle. Currently with the latest release of CB Groupjive and Latest release of CB Gallery...

- When I create an album within a group,   i still have this modal window with a field to upload a file as thumbnail (see capture) . I do not have this field anymore when i create an album in profile
(it was an improvement in CB Gallery few months ago, guessing mid or end january)



- I do not have the "make album cover"" in the menu items of photos within the Group Gallery (I own) but i have this item in photos from my Profile Gallery (as you shown with your snaphot

Albums always allowed upload of album cover unless you turned that off. This works no matter where the album is. This is default enabled for all galleries. So if you don't see it in a gallery then edit that gallery in CB Gallery > Galleries and check the Create > Albums and ensure "Thumbnail" is set to "Yes".

Then it sounds like Album thumbnails were turned off.
