CB Invite confusion.

CB Invite confusion. was created by Fendermate
Hello CB Team,I am currently testing CB Invites on a Joomla 5 website and I am unclear about the intended workflow and functionality of the component.
My observations so far:
  • Clicking the green arrow button reports that the invite was sent successfully, but no email is received.
  • Clicking “Invite Link” creates an invite record/link, but the interface does not show who the invite was sent to.
  • The invite management screen only displays:
    • invite link
    • date
    • pending status
It does not appear to display:
  • recipient email address
  • recipient name
  • actual email delivery confirmation
  • resend status
I also noticed:
  • searching invites by email does not seem to behave consistently
  • clearing the search field manually is required to restore the list
  • there is very little documentation or visual guidance explaining the intended invite workflow
Before I spend more time troubleshooting, I would like clarification on the intended behavior of CB Invites.Specifically:
  1. Are invite links anonymous/generic, or should they be tied to recipient email addresses?
  2. Should recipient email addresses appear in the invite management list?
  3. Does the component actually send invitation emails directly, or only generate invitation links?
  4. Is there documentation or example screenshots showing the expected workflow?
  5. Is CB Invites fully compatible with Joomla 5 and PHP 8.x?
My goal is to use this as a professional invitation/onboarding system, so understanding its intended design is important before proceeding further.Thank you.

Are invite links anonymous/generic, or should they be tied to recipient email addresses?

Invite links are just as they say. Links. You share the link. You should see a share button next to it that integrates with browser native share API. These are handy for sharing via SMS while using your phone. Share links can be disabled though if you don't want them.

Should recipient email addresses appear in the invite management list?

That only shows if you invite by email address.

Does the component actually send invitation emails directly, or only generate invitation links?

It does both.

Is there documentation or example screenshots showing the expected workflow?

There is no documentation. It didn't really feel necessary to make one for "type in email address and click send". Below is an example.

1. Type email address and click the send button (or just press Enter).

2. Email is then sent to the recipient

3. Page will be reloaded immediately showing status and recipient

The invite below this email invite is an invite link. You share the link with someone by any means you feel necessary. Those do not send emails. These can be disabled if you think they'd confuse your users. It's just another way of inviting so depending on your community they may have a use.

Is CB Invites fully compatible with Joomla 5 and PHP 8.x?

Yes.
