I am trying to get my head around CB Content. Seems like a powerful replacement for Custom HTML but I don't see how this is specific to CB. I am trying to include CB Fields in Joomla content, e.g. articles. The only example I can find in the documentation is "Text:
Input substitution supported Text or HTML that is displayed in this module. E.g. [cb:usertab tab= “17” user=#displayed”/]"
. How can this be modified to display a CB field for any logged in user?
I am a bit spoiled by using Acymailing which works really well together with CB. When I create an email template I have a host of "tags" available among which "CB Users". There I can include with one click any of the CB fields in my system and create personalised email content. Does CB have anything like that? Or is this an idea for a new extension? Anyway my primary question is how to include a CB field content in CB Content or any other Add-on.

You don't need CB Content Module for that. You need CB Content Bot. CB Content Bot allows CB substitutions in Joomla content or anywhere Joomla content prepare is enabled.

How can this be modified to display a CB field for any logged in user?

Suggest reading our substitution tutorial below.

www.joomlapolis.com/documentation/279-community-builder/tutorials/18353-using-substitutions-throughout-cb

Does CB have anything like that?

Nope, you need to use the substitution syntax.

Or is this an idea for a new extension?

We'll eventually have a Joomla editor button plugin that will provide this, but it's currently not a priority to develop at this time.
