uddeIM 2.0 work in progress

Hallo.
Joomla 1.0 is dead since spring or summer 2009..
I think joomla 1.0 support could be stopped and the upcoming 2.0 of uddeIM should use MVC. This would be the right way...

That would mean a complete rewriting of uddeIM that is for such a complex system not possible.

I use own compatibility layers so uddeIM 2.0 works also on Joomla 1.6 (alpha).

Using MVC is not a solution since it also breaks compatibility to Joomla 1.5 in some cases.

btw:
Joomla 1.0 is *NOT* dead. Maybe it is dead for some hobby or smaller sites but some professional sites who paid lots of bucks for it will continue using it for some years. I do not agree with Joomla devs decision to drop Joomla 1.0 support so early and also wrote my disapprobation in the Joomla development forum.

Can't you support J1.0 until Uddeim 1.9.* and drop the support from Uddeim 2.0?
Maybe it's a bad idea, i don't know, i'm just asking

Dropping J1.0 support does only mean to remove a very few lines of code.

Why are you guys so obsessed to remove J1.0 support? There is no advantage in doing this.

I still have a couple of sites on J1.0, one being my biggest and most customized. That is why I haven't switched. I am close to converting now though, as there's no support and so much new stuff for J1.5.x.
