Failed to write to configuration file was created by CopyCatty
Hi,

I have installed uddeIM on Joomla! 1.5.2. Whenever I try to configure the settings, the error
Code:
Critical Error: Failed to write to configuration file: /administrator/components/com_uddeim/config.class.php
shows up.

I have tried following the instructions on the attached FAQ, in which suggests me to chmod the files to 766. However, after doing so, when I attempt to access to the configuration panel in back-end, error 404 occurred. chmod 777 resolves error 404, but still isn't able to configure the settings.

Along with that comes with two errors:
Code:
JFTP::login: Unable to login JFTP::write: Unable to use passive mode

I apologize in advance if I am missing any instruction in the FAQ. Thanks in advance for any help provided.

It seems that your Joomla FTP layer is not configured correctly (unable to login).

Do you need the FTP layer enabled? I usually recommend not to use this work around.

How should I configure it? I will try to ask my webhost.

I'm sorry, but what does it mean by "FTP layer enabled"?
