New uddeIM Install Error-Component Not Working Yet

Hi:

I just installed this component and got the following error. I've tried to follow the readme and the faq but I just have to confess I am confused. Can someone walk me through what I should be doing here? Thanks very much. I believe it is version 1.5. My site is wpwolvesden.com and I have this enable on the forum page until I can figure this out.

Upgrading from the version 1.5 is not longer supported.
You have to update to an older version first before upgrading to uddeIM 2.5b.

Would you be so kind as to provide more than a one line answer with helpful, specific information and process. It does not seem to make sense that one would have to update to an OLDER version to be able to upgrade to a NEW version. Is this correct? It is also confusing that there is a readme with possibly different information than an faq. Can this all be consolidated to one file?

Your site has so many versions and hot fixes, etc., that it is very difficult to know which is current and correct. I downloaded the version that appeared to be the most recent stable build. Please, I am asking for clear and precise help.

Please upgrade to uddeIM 1.7 using the instructions found in uddeIM 1.7 package first before upgrading to uddeIM 2.5.

Per your direction, I uninstalled what I had installed. I then installed your 1.7

- I have read the README and have done my best to understand and implement it.
I made the changes to the database for your 1.7

-I still get the following error on my joomla admin back end
Configuration is writeable: /home/content/92/7961992/html/administrator/components/com_uddeim/config.class.php
"Important: You have not updated your database! Please refer to the README how to update uddeIM correctly!"

-and the following when clicking on any of the modules in front end.

I would think the issue is simple, can you advise me how to resolve this?

You have _NOT_ used 1.5 before. The autoresponder has been added in 1.5 but in your database tables the required fields are still missing.

So you have to apply the database updates for uddeIM 1.4 (or maybe 1.3 or 1.2 or whatever).
