In the settings panel (menu System), UTF8 seems to be already chosen.

You have to change the text in the language file that is stored in the language.utf8 folder.

Your instructions were very short for me.... I'm not expert.
Anyway, I tried to make the change that I wrote in my first message of this topic in the italian.php file, in the language.utf8 folder.
I didn't get the result I hoped, because, after that change, my website pages did not open anymore (I got this error message:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /web/htdocs/www.waterwind.it/home/new/administrator/components/com_uddeim/language.utf8/italian.php on line 1).

But the worst thing is that even if I try to restore the original italian.php file in the folder (taking it from the back up of the site), the site doesn't work anymore, and I get the same error message. In order to make the site work again, I have to erase the italian.php file from the folder.

This issue is becoming a nightmare...

I would like at least to restore the default conditions.

Can you help me?

When you upload an UTF8 encoded file, ensure that your ftp program uses binary mode otherwise the file will be corrupted.
