Deletion Not Working

Under the new GDPR regulations I am having to delete messages. My system has over 6000 with the default settings of 365 days and 30 days for trash.

I have brought down the messages to 30 days and trash to 14 days but the messages in trash won't delete when purging. I am still left with over 4000 messages.

Any particular reason as to why these will not delete and how best I can get rid of them automatically?

uddeIM stores messages for sender and recipient only once! I.e. when a message should be physically deleted in the database the sender AND recipient must have trashed it.
