Email All

Is it possible to email all users depending on access level? I'm assuming all I would need to is return a query will all users emails in the recipient box? Just wondering if someone has better advice than my usual hack methods :evil:

Yes, in uddeIM 1.0 you can send a general message to all users of a certain group.

Excellent! I have installed the 1.0rc1 component to my site. I reinstalled the plug-in (figured it couldn't hurt). But I still don't see an option for emailing by group. I have changed "Allow multiple recipients" to yes and "Show Joomla Groups" to yes as well. Am I missing something? :sick:

You have to write a general message (enable system messages in backend). Only admins are allowed to send these messages.

Ah, damn. I was looking for a user to be able to blast email other users in the group. I'm creating a website that has a collection of businesses that will be connecting with each other so I need to have users have this functionality. I guess I'm off to hackin'. Thanks for you help.

Carefull, its easy to enable general messages for all users but this function might not be secure enough to make it available for all.
