All encoding is ok for messages between users but all messages sent by CB
connection system are wrongly encoded (foreign characters
stay as é instead of é)

This behavior occurs on joomla 1.0.13 with last CB and last uddeim 1.0 rc3

And this does not seem like a CB bug because everything is correctly encoded in the reply box with the reply message included

You closed the bug on joomlacode but I am sorry it is not solved :-)

I have never get a feedback to my question. So I closed the bug.

When a 3rd party product stores messages (incorrectly) into uddeIM message base it is not my problem. Sorry, maybe you can fix it when you modify the texts in the language file of CB.

Well languages in CB are ok !
I had no problem with myPMS and did not change the CB french file since.

What is really strange is that even if the message appears as wrongly encoded when received, the reply box is ok, which makes me still think that this is a problem with uddeIM.

By the way links do not appear in html neither in the message from CB but only in raw. Does it help ?

Do you have UTF-8 support enabled (running J!15)?

If so could you try
joomlacode.org/gf/project/com_uddeim/scmsvn/?action=browse&path=%2Ftrunk%2Fplug_pms_uddeim11%2F
please?

Its a development version which also supports the UTF-8 language files if required. I forgot this code in the 1.0 release of plug_pms_uddeim.

Maybe this solved the problem. Are the codes also encoded in your database?

I have joomla 1.0.13 and CB 1.1

Just checked the database and the messages are correctly encoded, everything is fine in the database.

Tried your last svn but it does not change anything.

I have this problem with CB messages only it seems !

All is fine with users messages and CB messages sent by email so the problem is definitely within uddeim wrong decoding of the html output for the links and wrong decoding of the code for CB messages.

Any suggestions ?

Do you have the wrong charset configured?
Check the system tab, there you will find an entry which specifies the used charset.

I am not quite szre but for french "ISO8859-1" should be ok.

What do you mean with "Just checked the database and the messages are correctly encoded, everything is fine in the database."?

uddeIM displays exactly what is stored in the database. When the database is ok then a system message is not handled different from a "normal" message.
