(SOLVED) White Page error was created by canton
uddeIM 1.0 was working on my site until for some reason yesterday i got the dreaded white page when you click on a link to enter any pages of uddeIM.

I tested on my local server ( windows vista ) to find when i deleted the .htaccess file it worked again.

so i reverted my .htaccess file online ( production site ) to the original distribution file to joomla 1.15 and the problem still exist.

I then uninstalled and reinstalled uddeIM with the same results.

this has got me baffled

Please help as my members cant get to there PMs which is essential to the site

thanks in advanced

As you have mentioned. It is a problem with your .htaccess file. Do you use the original Joomla file or a modified one?

I've reverted back to the origanal .htaccess file from joomla 1.15 distro. Its really strange :pinch:

Heres the content of the file

You are using a 3rd party SEF (the section is enabled in your htaccess file), so the problem is definitely there. Are you sure that your SEF component supports uddeIM? If not you have to exclude uddeIM from the SEF processing.
As far as I know only sh404SEF and JPromoter support uddeIM completely.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes im sure that sef component supports it ( ARTIO JoomSEF and now using SEF_Advance v5.5.7 ) but just to be sure i uninstalled it and i got the same white page also i deleted the .htaccess file and the whole site white paged.

I even then left the .htaccess file in place but with the contents deleted and whole site again stayed and with no errors but white page still existed for uddeIM. Ahhhh I'm now at the stage of pulling my hair out :( . Is there anyway you could have a look. Thing have now got desperate.

Is the Itemid still ok? When you create a menu link it points to a unique component id (Itemid). When you e.g. update the component (deinstall, reinstall) then this Itemid is also updated but the menu link still points to the old Itemid.

Do you use any mambots which modify content output?

Have you enabled site debugging? Do you see any errors?

What other components do you use? Maybe one of these components interfere with uddeIM?

If you like, send me a login to your site, so I will have a look.
