uddeIM 1.6 Install Help

I've searched the documentation and the forum, and the internet.

I'm having trouble getting my uddeIM to work properly.

It isn't alerting me to new private messages in the login menu area. I think it is sending messages, because I try to send a message and it says it was successful, and I get a copy in my inbox.

Also, if I click on the You Have No New Private Messages link, I get a 404.

How do I set it up to work correctly?
