Can't get profilellink to work

I am trying to get the profile link plugin to work. I believe this will put a tab to allow someone to send messages from their own profile, correct?

I installed it, enabled it, checked everything and I still don't see anything on my profile. Is this because I have not upgraded to 1.6? I didn't want to go through all of that if it isn't necessary.

Then how do I get the ability to send messages from my own profile? There is a way, isn't there? I have been trying for days to get this to work (and I've read the manual several times) and I can't do it. I'd really appreciate some help because I need to demonstrate this in a couple of days.

You have a "quick message box" on other profiles which allows to send messages to the corresponding person.

You cannot send messages from *your* profile... How should this make sense? Do you expect to see the complete uddeIM component interface in your profile? If so, the answer is no, you cannot send messages from your profile to other persons.

Then I'm not understanding how I can send messages to groups of people at the same time. At present I can only send to one person at a time -- if I go to the person's profile page and click on "send a private message."

How can I choose users from a our members and send a message to all of them at once?

Maybe you should first create a menu link to uddeIM component. This is the same for all Joomla components.

Then check the backend and enable contact/userlists.
