custom welcome email at registration

i´m a begginer in CB but i have a problem. i need to send custom welcome email after registration (including all fields, also custom fields and a frontend image), i was looking for the answer in this forum and i have find a posible "solution"

please, can you guide me step by step to do this? can you guide me to do an html welcome email?

is this metod correct? if not...do someone know how to do a custom welcome email? html based or pdf or something.
