i created lists for users for my college website
1st
i don't know how to seperat my users into these lists
eg engineering staff users in >> enginerin list
2nd
can i make users chose list when they sign up ?
3rd
also i wan a list for all the staff in college , list includes all members

I am also looking for a similar solution. A potential nonprofit client wants to have volunteers categorized by what they are willing to volunteer for ie setting up functions, cleanup, etc. I'm hoping that there is a way to have a list at registration where the individual can select areas they are interested in helping with. Then hopefully the administration can group email/contact all individuals that have 'signed up' for a specific task.
Does CB have that functionality or is there an additional extension that works with CB to accomplish this?

i have solved my issue you can do the same
here is what i have done
first create a filed (eg:name it interest )with drop down box chose with (interests) , and name your categories in it < cleanup, etc>
scnd : create a list for each categorie and in that list go to filter >> chose interest field >> then chose equal to >> then in the righ filed wright the name of intrest eg cleanup
you can chose this field to show on registration page
