password was created by tarareare

We have and old user database we want to import to CB users table but we have our old users password stored in MD5 format. Seems that CB uses a different method. Which one? And, can I configure CB to use MD5 to store passwords?

CB does not have its own method - we just use Joomla method.
And the password is not even saved in comprofiler tables - its just the Joomla user table.
