I searched and found this helpful post:

However, it isn't for Joomla 2.5. I figured out how to change the Control Panel quickicon (editing administrator/modules/mod_quickicon/helper.php so that the 'link' goes to 'index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=showusers' and the 'access' is for 'com_comprofiler').
But I can't figure out how to change the Users>User Manager menu item.
Any pointers?

P.S. My reason is the same referenced in the other posting: my users are confused when using the Administrator area and use the wrong User Manager.
