Custom field required for registration

Hello everyone,

Was hoping there might be a solution to this through CB.

I am developing a website that needs a specialized code to complete registration. There is a different code for different groups of people that we want to organize through our site. We also only need the codes active for two weeks at a time, to encourage people to sign up right away. Is this capable through CB? What would be the best way to go about this? We are currently using the latest Joomla 2.5.

Maybe the latest CB DBLookup field can help (part of Professional membership).
