Add fields in the register form

How can I add fields in the register form (dropdown list, text areas...) ?

Install CB 1.9 and configure it according to all instructions included in the pdf installation guide (part of the CB 1.9 package)
Create fields in CB Field Manager
Assign field to existing CB Tab (you can create new CB Tab if needed in CB Tab Manager)
Mark field to show during registration form.

I'm discovering CB, and I don't understand how/why we need a tab to add a field.
I did as you said, but when a visitor is on the CB register module, this new field is not displayed.

Because this is how CB is designed - fields are placed in tabs and tabs are displayed in profile.

You must have done something wrong.
