Who's Online User-Text Substitution not rendering HTML link

5 years 10 months ago #310686 by bramblefoot
I'm trying to use a simple firstname substitution in the user-text field for the Who's Online module.
The actual substitution works, the name is correct however I am expecting the name to also be a link to the person's profile.
If I use no substitutions, the default method, the whole name is a link. I'm just trying to have firstnames only in the Who's Online mod.
I read the Using Subs doc, and I thought that using "userfield" instead of "userdata" would achieve a firstname with the profile link.

Can anyone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks in advance!

The only field that links is the formatname field. The firstname field output has no HTML associated with it. You'll need to add the link your self. Example as follows.

Code:
<a href="[cb:url location="profile_view" /]">[firstname]</a>

See the below substitution tutorial for further usage information.
