Cronjobs Not Functioning

Cronjobs Not Functioning was created by MarylandShallIssue
Hi Support,

We've recently run into an issue with a couple of the cronjobs for CB Subs, specifically the one under Mass Expiry Settings and the other under CB Subs Automation. When I looked into them initially, it simply seemed that the URLs had changed, but even updating them within our cPanel cronjobs panel didn't seem to resolve the issue.

Our host was able to confirm that the cronjobs themselves were being run at the times they were scheduled. Additionally, they also found that when run the cronjobs had no output, so there is nothing we can use to troubleshoot them.

What should I supply to you so you can assist with this issue?

Try accessing the mailer URL with &format=raw removed and with Joomla debug mode and maximum error reporting enabled. See if it outputs any errors of it it's redirecting you incorrectly. You should just see a simple message like the following.

Url of cron task to process mailers rules:
Processed 0 messages into the email queue.

Url of cron task to process mailqueue:
No messages in messages queue to be sent.

Url of cron task to both process mailer rules into queue and then to process mailqueue:
Processed 0 messages into the email queue.

If you don't see any of those messages for those different automation URLs something is preventing access. Usually a Joomla menu item issue, but we've seen some people accidently protect CB or CBSubs itself with a plan causing weird access problems.

Confirmed those messages display when the crons are run manually with debug on.

We have the cronjob setup for the combined cron URL. On one attempt running it the site ran into a "MySQL went away" error. On the second attempt, I did not get this error.

Would running the separate crons a few minutes apart be a potential fix?

You shouldn't need to run multiple CRON. Setup 1 to run the "Url of cron task to both process mailer rules into queue and then to process mailqueue" URL. It handles the queue and processing of the queue as a single endpoint. Otherwise yes if you do 2 CRON you need to wait for "Url of cron task to process mailers rules" CRON to finish before you run "Url of cron task to process mailqueue".
