Protecting content & showing/hiding introtext

Hello,

I am in the process of migrating sites from K2 to Joomla core (and J3->4/5) - and CBSubs seems to be working differently. 

I would like the image and introtext of protected articles to be hidden from Category and tags pages.

With K2, I protected articles via protecting menu items.  When viewing K2 category pages or tag pages, the articles and image/introtext for protected articles did not appear.

Now, those same menu items point to Joomla articles.  When viewing the category pages, or tags pages, the article image and introtext appear - but when clicking through, I am brought to the paywall. 

I have checked my settings in CBSubs, and under "General Plugin Settings" -> "Still show intro text for articles", I have tried "no" and also tried "depends".  Neither one hides the article from the category/tags pages.

What am I missing?  Is there another setting?  (Apologies if this is a basic question... I can't find another setting that seems to fit.)

It seams like there might be a bug with "Still show intro text for articles" setting. That should be suppressing it regardless of the view. Will test and see what's going on. Are you on Joomla 5? As that's where I'm seeing it not suppressing the intro. Works for for suppressing read more and direct access of course.

Ok, it seams like an event issue. What menu item view for your articles are you using exactly? Featured? Category Blog? The context for those views appears to have changed from "com_content.article" to "com_content.featured". So our plugin behavior isn't applying to them.

Ok, I've went through and made multiple improvements. First is that Category Blog and Featured views will respect hiding of intro texts. Second is a new parameter to let you show/hide images just like you can with intro text. Third is allowing toggling of protection for blog view (e.g. prevents from even accessing this view) just like List view. Lastly fourth is fixing duplicate read more buttons.

Once this is reviewed and merged we'll have a new CBSubs built release available.

Thanks, Krileon. I am using 3 methods that do not appear to be working (just checked all 3):
- category blog
- tag page
- a 3rd party module that shows articles from a single category ("Latest News Enhanced")

Right now, I am using Joomla 4, trying to get the site sorted before moving to J5.
