Protecting content & showing/hiding introtext

Within CBSubs > Settings > Integrations > Content ensure the following are set.

Still show intro text for articles: No: access to articles introduction is also restricted
Still show image for articles: No: access to articles images are also restricted

Then click Save. Even if they're already set please click Save.

Now within System > Manage > Plugins find "cbpaidsubsbot" plugin and ensure it is public and published. That plugin is responsible for ensuring the content bot behavior runs.

Confirmed that I did all of this and the problem persists.  (Sorry to be such a pain.)

At this point I believe a install review will be necessary. Please PM backend super user login credentials and will take a look. Please include instructions to reproduce your issue. Please make a full backup as I may need to install debug builds to see what's going on.

Have reviewed your install. Your issue is because you're not protecting the articles. You're protecting their menu items. This is a very different level of protection. Protecting menu items does exactly that and only that it prevents direct access to that menu item.

Within your plans you need to use the Category or Article protection under Integrations > Content > For read access. I've confirmed this works on your site by protecting the article itself mentioned in your private message where you'll see it works as expected now with both image and intro protected.

I recommend protecting categories instead of individual articles or menu items though as will be substantially easier to maintain going forward. I've added a feature request to protect content by Tag as well. I might be able to have that implemented next week as that might be a better fit for you.

Regardless you'll need to go through your articles and replace that menu based protection with article or category based.

OK, thanks for looking at this for me, I really appreciate it.  Sorry, I did try to describe my method of protecting the articles (via menu items).  Interestingly, protecting via menu items *did* actually work for K2. 

Tag protection would potentially make my life a lot easier moving forward, thank you.  Either way, though, I now have to find and edit/tag hundreds of articles linked to via protected menu items... which might be the last straw for me with this migration/website/Joomla/K2 nightmare.  I will take the weekend to decide whether to give up and become a farmer or something.
