I am very confident that this template has initiated the problem. It started after I uploaded the source dump file for the template which set it as it was when I previewed it. For some reason it stops new components from being added to the menu. I am not willing to part with the template though as the site is 90% done and I just need to get CB up and running.
I also read on another forum that this error is common with other applications due to some code in the com_installer file. Not sure what that is about.
I am going to try and install the menu items through the phpmyadmin. I did a fresh install of joomla on another data base with another domain and then installed CB. I then copied the CB data for the josh_menu and am going to type it into the phpmyadmin for the problem site. I can't see why that would not work but Hey... I am likely missing something. Will give it a try though. Wish me luck
