After really long search for php.ini i have ended up contacting my hosting company and they have advised me that php.ini does not exist as such and i need to create it.
With their help and guidance i have created that file with only two parameters in it:
upload_max_filesize=100M
max_execution_time=80

(this is copied from the file)
After i have created and saved the file through the control panel I have once again attempted to install comprofiler, as before it was returning and error with a note below that it cannot find install package.

I have since had to remove the php.ini as it would make it seems to have forced the site to require to re-login every time i click on any link at the font end.

Hope that gives you some indication as to what could be wrong.
(would be nice to have that magic wand that makes everything just work!)

Please do not rely on looking at a php.ini file you created and concluding that this is the file that joomla is actually picking up.

Unfortunately, your hosting helpdesk has not really helped you.

Please refer to this tutorial I created (new section of this site) that will help newbies (like you - its not a shame) understand some things about php environment and joomla.

Thank you so much for that!B)

I know it is not a shame to not know things, as everyone has to start somewhere, I just wish it came to my head just to ask my host to do that instead of spending hours of frustrating troubleshooting!

Thank you one more time!

Well, after long searches it turned out to be the easiest way to call my hosting company and get them to help me out with this. Took about 5 minutes!

Anyway, thank you for your effort to get me through this!
