My developer, after a lot of research and trial/error, figured out the solution:
In the sh404SEF component, you must go to: Configuration > Advanced tab > 301 redirect www/non-www and set it to "Enforce access without www"
Glad it's finally fixed, just wish it hadn't caused so much havoc, delay, and time/cost on my end.
