CB 1.7
J! 1.5.23

CB is AWESOME!...
It is perfect for my community project, and my question is about the
"Advanced Search" feature (Searchable Fields):

Example -

User DARMON9 can play Guitar, Piano and Flute.

He marked the Instrument Multicheckbox field as:
[*] Guitar
[ ] Drums
[*] Piano
[*] Flute

Now -
I can not use the "Advanced Search" in order to have DARMON9 appear as a match,
if some is looking for GUITAR only -

"Advanced Search" - Instrument:
[*] Guitar
[ ] Drums
[ ] Piano
[ ] Flute

For now, the only way DARMON9 will appear as a match is if someone is looking for:

"Advanced Search" - Instrument:
[*] Guitar
[ ] Drums
[*] Piano
[*] Flute

Which is RARE...

P.S. -
I purchased a module called CBcoresearch which enables this option
(so it is possible...), but overall the "Advanced Search" is MUCH
better than CBcoresearch.

I am willing to change any file needed to have this option working.
(or even to pay someone to do it...)

:)

Thank You!

What do you mean by "Advanced Search"? CB userlists have multiple modes. Scroll to the bottom of your userlist in backend and set "Search crieteria:" to "Simply: any..." or "Advanced...". Either of them allow you to do what you're wanting. By default it's set to "Simple: is..." and is designed to behave as you're experiencing.

I believe this is also described in the CB Detailed documentation you have access to.

I found this useful post.
But when I select “Simple any Word Match”
I get all the results.
e.g. I have a drop down menu (multi-select) with the following items:
small item
Medium item
large item

And 3 users:
User 1 has a small item.
User 2 has a small item and large item.
User 3 has a medium Item.

“Simple any Word Match”: When I search on “small item” I get all three users.
“Simple Exact match”: When I search on “small item” I get only user1.
Advanced: has the same problems.

How can I solve this problem.

Thanks

Joomla version? CB version? CB simply does a `FIELDNAME` LIKE '%SEARCH%' onto the userlist database query. Scrolling to bottom of page while debug mode is enabled you'll see the userlist query where your search is made, please copy that query and paste it here in a reply as maybe something is causing it to construct wrong.
