Issues with new users

Ok I encountered something new last night while helping a class register for my site. If someone types apps4ed.com instead of www.apps4ed.com they get a callback URL error with Twitter connect (and I'm assuming FB too).

Is there a way I can set it so it won't matter what URL they use?

This is normal. The connect sites are extremely picky about domain matching and example.com is not the same as www.example.com (it became some silly standard to append URLs with subdomain www for whatever reason). Best approach is add a redirect from your hosting panel as cPanel often has this capability or adding a redirect with htaccess. This redirect would result in sending them to www if they go to the non-www version.

Ok thanks I have that setup now. I have two more questions.

The timestamp is off by a few hours in the members list. I had users who had just finished registering but it said 4 hours ago. I have the global time via Joomla set to NY. Is there another time zone setting within CB?

How can I get the # that is associated with a Twitter account? I see that when a user connects via Twitter a number is associated with their account? How can I get that number? I think that will fix the issue I'm having with my own Twitter not connecting to my CB account.

This is a known issue. Please see the below bug ticket. Please note it won't apply to existing users. Testing and feedback is welcomed.

It's a field so you could use the substitution for it [twitter_id] to display it in a delimiter field, etc..
