Unfortunately this site is not accessible from outside the network. Is there some suggestions you can give me based on your experience with other users?

If the fields are hidden by CB Privacy or CB Conditional then that could also cause the user to be excluded. Also note if you've it set to search the Firstname field, but you have name display set to Name field then that won't work as Firstname isn't enabled.

Hey Kyle,

I am working on the search module for my site at govlinkedin.com
I first tried the Smart Search and the box looked great but the search didn't work.
Now I am trying the regular search module and the box is not appearing as nicely on the top bar (Like on the Jomlopolis template). The search is not working either for me. I want the search to only work for Registered Users. I don't want people clicking the search who are just browsing. So I can't figure out what I am doing wrong here. If I configure CB to allow only registered users to view profiles and the search to also work on registered users, that should work. I also did not exclude any fields. I think I have it, but it is not working. What are the troubleshooting steps here.

The CB search plugin only works with normal search. It does not work with smart search. When editing the search plugin within Extensions > Plug-in Manager you need to select what fields it should be searching. Those fields need to allow display on profile, be searchable, etc.. for them to function for searching (the same thing you would have to do for a userlist). Once done type criteria that'd match one of the fields you're trying to search and it should find the user. To limit it to registered users only simply set the plugins access to Registered.
