I wrote a migration script for jUpgrade when it was first coming out that did this automatically, but since then I've no idea what has happened to jUpgrade to make it so unreliable...

Interesting hint!
I could neither find infos about the CB support on original jUpgrade site (matware), nor on the forked redMigrator. The original product page lacks any details and extension descriptions.

Would be nice to have a clear and trustful answer on this. Not to mention that other popular migration would benefit from this info. i.e. J!infinity Migrator, Cyend SPupgrade

I don't know what happened to it, sorry. We contacted them when it was first being released for assistance in creating the script, but received little except an example or two, but I managed to make it functional. It was then sent to them to be included in jUpgrade. Since then I've no idea what has happened to it.

Since then no other migration developer has bothered to reach out to us to get CB migration implemented in their extensions. Sorry, but I won't be taking the initiative again in that regard as it wasted a week of my time for them to just abandon it. If any migration extension developers want to implement CB migration then they're welcome to use our contact us form.

Them = matware or redcomponents ?

BTW, can you provide your script and the important details somewhere?

I am going to play with SPupgrade and Jinfinity soon. I will try to encourage (bother) them. If it makes sense to implement a script/conversion into their workflow. They seem to be different.

I don't recall, sorry. Regardless I'm sure they were just busy as to be bothered by 1 extension. This is often the issue with major developers such as us, lack of time.

I don't have it anymore and it probably wouldn't be of any use at this point, sorry.

SPUpgrade does pretty good for migrating Joomla core. Even as far as maintaining user ids, which is really important for CB. Fixing the usergroups and view access levels is made 2-3 days of work, but if user ids weren't matched then it's a nightmare. So it maybe best to migrate then just manually check your usergroups and view access levels throughout CB.

Because for me there has been one page left to upgrade, i was just looking around and found this thread. Unfortunately i did not find a free migration tool, able to migrate cb data. There were two components on the page of a developer mentioned before. At first redmigrator to buy for 0.00 Euro. It does not seem to migrate cb data. For second Jupgrade, it is not supported anymore and there is no download for.

Fortunately i found the old com_jupgrade-2.5.2 within my chaos and again it did it. There is a comprofiler plugin for cb data and worked as expected. So may be your work for the adapter is not for nothing. Thank you!

Best regards, Macjoomla
