This issue was posted before, but there wasn't a reply.

Tried every combination of enabling first name, last name, formatted name, what have you. I must be missing something.

Any suggestions out there?

Thanks!

Name field usage is adjusted by changing "Name Style" within CB > Configuration > General. Once set you should see the name fields within CB > Field Management that match your settings. Then within registration you should see your name fields for you to supply a name. Is this happening on frontend or backend?

It's on the front end. I am using first name & last name fields on registration and in config it's "first and last name field". Maybe I should be using a different name style?

It's fine to use first and last name fields. Just be sure you supply a first and last name field. Please PM backend super administrator login credentials and will take a look. It's possible you've a 3rd party user/system plugin acting on Joomla registration causing this.

A-ha. I'm sharing this dialogue hoping to prevent others from having this problem.

My bet is you are correct. I had disabled Profile Pro once it became clear the Pro add-ons would do, for me, anyway, a better job. Just now I uninstalled Profile Pro and I got this:

Warning

Error loading component: com_cbprofilepro, Component not found

on a trial registration. That makes me think it's related to this little snippet I replaced: comprofiler.html.php

May I just reinstall CB--will I lose all my settings? Or should I just replace that code (which I'd appreciate a copy...)

Thank you.

You can install CB over the top of it self to remove any core edits. No, your settings will not be lost.
