Hi! long time no forum ( I am back from vacation now...)
When I got back, I found our local DEV server (an HP proliant) had succumbed to overheating. I set up a new dev machine on a CentOS Hyper-V VM in my desk, and installed our Joomla 2.5.16 from backup. Then proceeded to upgrade.
Surprisingly - I discovered this CBsubs problem completely went away.
I now have Joomla 2.5.23 running on CentOS 6.3 (PHP 5.4.30) with NO issues to do with CBsubs. At least, all the Admin menus are working fine...
So, I'm not sure what all the fuss was about. My Joomla upgrade from 2.5.16 was 'aimed' at 2.5.22 but actually came in as 2.5.23.
So all this weirdness was either confined to Joomla 2.5.22 - or perhaps it could have all been due to the PHP 5.5.9 on the old (Ubuntu) server...
