Auto downgrade users - CB and CBSubs was created by ricco1
Hi,

Joomla! 3.3.6 Stable
CB 2.0.7
CBSubs 4.0.0-rc.2

I have existing users!

I have 4 top level plans with the following structure:

1. Free (Exclusive) - free lifetime plan.
2. VIP Monthly (Exclusive) - Autorecurring
3. VIP Yearly (Exclusive) - Autorecurring
4. 3 years VIP (Exclusive) - Autorecurring

On registration the users are automatically assigned to the Free plan.

Will the already Free users downgrade automatically to Free if they subscribe to any of the VIP plans and it expires?

Thank you

They'll be placed in an internal free lifetime plan in that case. They'll then be asked to renew or upgrade based off plan configuration.

Hi,

Sorry, I don't understand.

Is "internal free lifetime plan" = "1. Free (Exclusive)"?

My "1. Free (Exclusive)" plan is free lifetime plan and the users are mandatory assigned to it on registration, without them even knowing it.

What is the status of a user if subscribes as Free, then moves to VIP, then cancels the payment within his gateway (NOT FROM FROM MY WEBSITE)? Is CBSubs going to detect the cancellation immediately or will it wait till the next payment to see that the payment is cancelled so it can put the user in an expired or cancelled state?

My User Groups are as follows:

Registered
-Free members
-VIP members

Will the users belong to the Free members group or to the Registered, after the VIP plan is expired (or cancelled, depending on the answer of my first question)? What will be displayed to the user if he try to login after plan is cancelled from within the gateway, not from within CBSubs?

Thank you

Suggestion:

Create a test user from CB User Management and manually add this user to the plan you want from the backend profile of the user (subscriptions tab in the profile).

Then from the same place unsubscribe the user from the paid plan and see how it looks to the test user in frontend.

Depending on other configurations (for example if you have set your CBSubs -> Settings -> Global Create Subscriptions also for free lifetime plans: parmameter to yes) you should see some differences.

Best to test with your own created test user to verify things on your own.

I've done those tests already and it works. My question is gateway related where I cannot test.

You can manually add users to plans from their profile page in backend. This why you ar enot going through the checkout process.

Results will be the same.
