Perhaps AcyMailing has a joomla plugin that you need to unpublish before upgrade.

I did that - unpublished 2 tag plugins and the Acymailing registration plugin that works with CB by default now. Still not working.

I disabled all CB plugins for Acymailing (3), all integrations with CB (Payment Form, Event Booking, Kunena), and deleted all 3rd party CB plugins. I'm at a total loss. I have now rebuilt my site with Akeeba about 15 times. I tried using maximum error reporting with no success. I have no language plugins installed except the default ones that come with CB. I've been using Joomla and CB for 9 years so I'm not exactly new to this.

Any further help or reply to my ticket is appreciated.

CB 2.3, CBsubs 4.3, PHP 7.1, J! 3.9.X

Just saw that I have 2 CB plugins installed, v1.9.1 and 1.7. should I delete the 1.7? Could that cause this?

Yeah that could be it.

I (first took a backup using akeeba on your site) then unistalled the old component.
This caused all of CB to disappear.
Was the able to install CB 2.0.7 (latest nightly) on your site without any issues.

You will need to reinstall your other cb plugins though since the ols CB removal wiped out the code (but database should have remained ok).

But you would have needed to install the cb plugins anyway to upgrade to latest CB 2.- compatible ones

didn't even think to uninstall first - thank you. Got it all back up and learning CB2. So far, so good.
