Coupon code usage should work regardless of the subscription duration. What do you mean it doesn't work? As in it gives the same issue? Doesn't show the input to supply the coupon code? Gives an error?

Kyle,

Sorry! I have the promotion setup exactly like example 1: club in the timing tab of the promotion. What I did was instead of applying to all purchases, I changed it to Coupon Code. I left all other settings the same. When I go to renew the membership, the coupon field is presented. I put the code in, RENEW2016 but no discount is applied. If I change it to a static discount percentage, say 50% works fine. It seems to not work with calendar based promotions.

So what I'm thinking is to try and use "A fixed amount or percentage depending on the corresponding items price". I'd put a field in CB that holds the month of the expiration date. Then trigger the discount amount from that field. Here is what I have for discounts:

1:0%;2:8%;3:17%;4:25%;5:33%;6:42%;7:50%;8:58%;9:67%;10:75%;11:83%;12:0%;

What would be the syntax to trigger the appropriate discount amount? (i.e. if expiremth is ...). I'm searching for a workaround at the moment and thought this might work. The percentages will be the same across plans since it is calendar based.

Thanks in advance for the help!
Joe

Folks,

I was able to develop a workaround to this issue with promotions. What I did was to setup a promotion for each month. The promotion is configured to discount off the full price of the plan. The discount rate was based on the expiry date of the membership plan. If a person expiration date was in April, there discount would be 3/12 of the plan price. I added the user id's in the group tab so it could only be used by the appropriate folks.

I used MySQL against the Joomla database to create an excel spreadsheet that contained member and information,along with pricing, discounts, and amount due. I used Microsoft Word to create the invoice and then merged and sent the invoices to our members.

Just wanted to share how I go around this issue.

Thanks,
Joe

So a flat discount percentage works fine in all cases, but soon as you've the variable discount it did not work? Can you provide a screenshot of your promotion configured in a way it didn't work? Having a hard time understanding the configure in order to test.
